This A3 print features the artwork The Falls, Springbrook, 1974 by Albert Tucker. Created exclusively for HOTA
About the artist:
Albert Tucker (1914 – 1999) was a modernist painter whose peers included Sidney Nolan and Arthur Boyd. Despite having no formal art training and leaving school at 14, Tucker obtained work as a cartoonist and commercial illustrator. His first significant works were produced in the 1940’s, during his involvement in the army.
About the artwork:
The Falls, Springbrook is one of several paintings Tucker created after purchasing an 18-acre block of land in Springbrook, saving it from subdivision and development. The acreage was retained until 2007, when Albert’s wife Barbara sold it to the Queensland Government to be absorbed into the Springbrook National Park.
